Pacific Challenges: Questioning concepts, rethinking conflicts
Marseille (France), 6-8 July 2005

How to get there: some practical information

Where does it happen?

The ESfO Conference will take place in Marseille, hosted by the CREDO (Centre for Research and Documentation on Oceania), itself hosted at the Saint Charles Campus of the University of Provence.

The St Charles Campus (see photo) is just opposite the Marseille central train station (Gare Saint Charles), at about 5 minutes walking distance.

How to get to Marseille?

Marseille is easily to reach by train or plane. The TGV (fast train) takes only 3 hours to cover the 883 kilometres from Paris (Gare de Lyon). Make sure you book well in advance your seat, as you won't be able to hop into the train without a reservation. Buying a ticket online at the SNCF website or on a counter will provide you with the necessary tickets and booking. (If you book online, please check that SNCF will send the tickets to your country of residence).

Air France and other companies fly regularly (daily and more) from numerous places in Europe to Marseille, either through direct flights, or over Lyon and Paris. The Airport is about 30 minutes bus drive from the train station, from where you are a 5 minutes walking distance away from the campus.
